A Fresh New Team With A Fresh New Program
Meet Emma, Victoria, and Leah... Our summer students!
Summer always brings new eager staff and this spring/summer we’ve had the pleasure of working with a team of three impressive ladies. Emma Huddleston as our Program Coordinator, Victoria Keats as our Program Assistant, and Leah Fancey as our Communications Manager.
"We've been so fortunate for the opportunity to work with L’Arche Fredericton this summer. The day program has been a highlight of our summer, and we’re always so happy to do daily activities with our friends at L’Arche Fredericton. It has been a great season, and we’re looking forward to spending the last couple of weeks with an extraordinary group of people." - Emma, Victoria, & Leah

Beverley has been a consistent core member in the Day Program since 2019. He has made many new friends and continues to build on relationships. Beverley is always willing to participate in any activity, and he has made such a positive impact on everyone here at L'Arche Fredericton.
Beverley says that he is always excited for L'Arche activities because he loves to see his friends. He frequently talks to us about how nice his friends are and we feel the same way about him!
His favourite program is the Learning Kitchen. In fact - Beverley enjoys cooking the food even more than eating it!

President's Report - Inclusive Housing
Traditional housing models and supports for persons with intellectual and developmental disabilities are not working. Collaborative models and approaches are needed to promote individualized and community-based supportive housing solutions. More research is needed, and the barriers that exist between regions and organizations must be addressed.
On September 14th you can be part of New Brunswick’s action plan for inclusive housing at the Inclusive Housing Forum taking place at the Wu Conference Centre, UNB Fredericton campus, from 9:30am – 4:30pm, doors open at 9:00am.

What's Cooking?
Every week our members participate in a cooking class by Chef Yves Deschaine out of the Learning Kitchen at Greener Village. This summer we've been building our cooking skills using locally grown produce to learn sustainable food practices and enhance our gardening skills!
Stay tuned for what we'll be cooking up in the kitchen!
